You is smart.

This weekend was a lovely one.

It consisted of a lot of tissues and movie rentals.

My sister and I rented The Help; I loved it.

If you haven't seen it it's about an aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s. She scandalously decides to write a book detailing the African-American maid's point of view on the white families for which they work.

Inspired and Quoted from The Help:

You is kind, you is smart, and you is important.

You is kind, you is smart, and you is important.

As I was watching the film I was enjoying my own personal revelations.

I became aware that even though I had adoring parents telling me I was smart, I was kind, and I was important, where did I stop believing in myself?

Although the world tells us not to share our insecurities, we are all smart enough to know they exist.

In all of us.

When did all of us stop believing? When did we allow societal pressure damage us?

Last I checked confidence was more attractive than skinniness. Kindness was more attractive than envy. And feeling worth something to ourselves is the most irresistible of all.

To all the woman who push through everyday with the weight of insecurity...release.

You is kind, you is smart, and you is important.

Believe this today and every day that follows.
