I believe it.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I remember being sedentary, attentive to the wise words of my high-school pastor. That Wednesday evening discussion topic was on LOVE. I was 14 years old and in the midst of falling for my first love; my curious self slumped down dreamy-eyed by the whole belief in it. I listened with a careful ear, drenching my soul with hope and hurry to bask in love.

I was ready.

I wasn't ready for destruction years later.

We're never ready.

You, me, everyone is never ready for the destruction.

Even so, we move on. Suddenly we find ourselves thirsty for the hope and hurry to bask in love...again.

Just like the ocean tide, love has its own ebb and flow.

The tide flows in and out when alas we fall in love for the last time.

All those hopes and hurriedness come to an abrupt halt, and we willingly dive without worry.

For God says we are finally ready.

So, do you believe in love at first sight?

I remember my wise pastor that Wednesday evening articulating his thoughts about love at first sight."The only existing love at first sight is that of a mother seeing her child for the first time. That is unconditional immediate love."

I had forgotten that night and abandoned the idea of immediate unconditional love. Love never resulted that way for me so the thoughts dissolved as the years ticked by.

Until, I became a parent...

 ...to a puppy.

For I know she is only a slight glimpse of love at first sight.

Yet She's real.

She's what prompted my memory of that whimsical Wednesday evening when love became on option, not just a reverie.

Meet our beautiful baby girl, Halo, who grants me hope and hurry once again.

Afresh, my curious self sits slumped in my chair dreamy-eyed in the belief of love.

This time in my life I feel rich, drenching my soul with hope and hurry, to bask in a mothers' love.

One day, when God thinks I'm ready, I'll hold my baby and embrace the ebb and flow of motherhood.

I'm certain that won't just be a glimpse rather the true love at first sight.

I believe it.

God, I'm ever so thankful for you and your endearing blueprints. Be my guide, and be my eyes.
