My 10 survival tips to hang in there the last days of school.

Let's face it.

I'm ready for school to be over and summer to begin.

Don't get me wrong, I love my wittle kiddos, however, we all need a break.

So fellow teachers, friends, whomever, here is a list of 10 survival tips that I created to help myself HANG IN THERE these last... 6 1/2 days.

1. Pray for patience. Oh LORD, I need some patience!

2. Replace every negative thought with thankfulness. This is hard to do, but SO necessary.

3. Leave school soon after the bell and plan something fun. YOU"LL GET THE WORK DONE. Promise. Don't exhaust yourself with stress or focus on all the closing duties, life is TOO short!

4. Hit the gym...this helps everything! Summer is quickly approaching...

5. Give yourself something to look forward to each evening. Perhaps it is watching a favorite TV show or going to dinner with a friend or opening a new wine with your loved one. You must be excited about something!

6. SLEEP. Go to bed at a decent hour. No student wants their last memory of their teacher to be a grouchy one. You will enjoy these last couple of days if you are well rested. So, SLEEP people!

7. Give yourself 30 minutes of quiet. FORCE yourself. Not on the treadmill, not in the kitchen. Thirty minutes of sitting, listening to quiet music and clearing your mind.

8. Plan something super fun to do with your students. They are desperate for FUN at this point...keep it exciting for them and YOU.

9. Tell each student how much you care about them. Take a moment to spend a little time with each student just to talk and wish them well. Kids are so awesome and you've shared so many incredible moments with them! Give yourself time to reflect on the wonderful elements of teaching.

10. Have sex. Enough said. (Sorry, Dad).

Hopefully these survival tips will help you AS they are helping me.

Thank you teachers for ALL your hard work and dedication!!!!

Cheers to 3 months paid vacation!!!
