India is gaining a new friend.

Do y'all remember who Selena is?

I loved her when I was younger.

My dear friend, Kayla, did too.

Kayla and I became friends at the ripe age of 12.

The scary age in which your body and mind begin to change.

I still remember on a sleepover Kayla was trying to teach me how to sing (she was great, I was horrible).

We chose "Dreaming of You" by our girl, Selena.

"Late at night when all the world is sleeping I stay up and think of you

And I wish on a star That somewhere you are thinking of me too"

Needless to say, I was never able to sing, but it created a memory, a great one.

We loved our long talks.

Top on our convo list was God.

Yes, two 12 year-olds.

Kayla had this passion and fascination with God.

She was one of my few friends that wanted me to talk about him and his love.

Unknowingly, at 12, God was using me to plant a seed in Kayla's growing heart, and she listened.

Then we grew up.

We remained close friends...most of the time.

Like most teenage girls we allowed boys and gossip to hinder our friendship.

But, we continued to grow.

We've said sorry numerous times in the last 13 years and continue to forgive each other.

Boys and gossip still exist but we choose to ignore it and focus on the things that matter most.

Isn't that a TRUE friendship? Not perfect people but willing to love each other regardless of flaws?

Kayla, I'm so honored to be your friend. A forever friend.

Kayla and I talked a few months ago. She mentioned that she needed prayer because she was considering going on the India Mission Trip with her church, Rock Harbor. The second she even considered it, I was incredibly humbled at God's feet. He has been working on her heart and she gets it; she understands his love for her. She believes she's worth it and people, SHE IS!

He doesn't give up on me, on her, on anyone.

She's always been passionate about people and she's finally living a dream of hers.

It gives me chills (and slight jealousy...hehe) KNOWING what an incredible journey this girl is about to set forth on.

On December 26th, 2012, Kayla will be leaving the states and traveling to Tenali, India.

Can I hear an AMEN?!?

LOUDER! Can I hear an AMEN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Kayla didn't ask me to share this with you. She didn't ask me to blog, or donate, or anything. You know what she asked me for? Prayer.

You don't need to know her OR me.

Just place her name somewhere and pray for her and her mission team everyday.

If you do know her, contact her. Tell her you're praying, let her feel your love!

Kayla has already met her financial goal!!!

Kayla, it's amazing to witness God weave into our lives. There aren't enough hugs or words to express how PROUD I am of you. God is using you to teach me, without you even knowing. The same way he's been using me all these years. It's ALL him and the blessing is that we both know it. We are both humbled and know that our creator deserves all the credit. He's the mastermind! I have no doubt that he's going to stretch and use you in ways unexpected. I can't wait to hear what he does to you, and what he uses you for.

This will forever change you.

I'm humbled you invited me in to your world, and desired to share this spiritual journey with me.

I'm so very grateful.

Now, I'm going to teach you to sing. Remember these words; sing them, write them, pray them.

"From the rising of the sun, to the going down of the same,

The name of the Lord shall be praised."

I learned it on my first mission trip to Mexico and sang it all over the world.

God Bless you sweet friend.
