I bought a birthing gown!

I ordered my birthing gown!

What's a birthing gown, you ask?

It's THIS!

I've unfortunately been in the hospital one too many times to know the gowns they give you are horrible! Who likes their a** showing every time you stand up?

When I was shot (weird statement but true. Read HERE if you're curious), I had to walk the cold halls with two gowns tied together. Well, I was all doped up and didn't notice the gown was completely off my shoulder, exposing all my goodies to the crowd around Dad.

He turned red, I looked down, and well, there ya have it. At 19 the LAST thing you want is your pops to see your tatas!

To this day I can't figure out why they can't make gowns A. cuter and B. a little more secure coverage.

Well MAMA's, we're in LUCK!

I have found cute and "hospital approved" gowns to wear while we labor and deliver.

I don't know about you but I'm planning on being as mobile as possible and I wouldn't mind being as cute as possible either!

I'm looking forward to full coverage, easy skin-to-skin access, and cute pictures!

These gowns come with snap buttons down the back (no strings!) and snap buttons on the front for easy breastfeeding and skin-to-skin access. They are also easy access for an epidural, if needed.
I spoke to the hospital staff and they said it is perfectly okay to bring and wear your own.
Cha Ching!

They have some super cute ones on Etsy, but I honestly didn't want to pay double the price. You can pick and choose but I went with the "Gownies" brand for $29.00. The pattern I chose is the one pictured above. I can't wait to get it in the mail!

Wouldn't this be a great baby shower gift, too?

Call me crazy but I'm excited!

Happy Saturday!

  1. You are so funny. Love the gown! See you tonight :)

  2. That is an awesome deal! I am opting for a sports bra or tank top and a skirt which was recommended by the nurse who taught our birthing class. I didn't want to be stuck in the hospital gown either! And couldn't bring myself to buy a $60 gown for a one time use...well possibly multiple :) Love it!! Nice pick!
