36 weeks!

Mornin' sunshine!

I have much to update you on! Yesterday I went to the doc for my weekly checkup. Baby is in position! That doesn't mean too much because She can stay like that for awhile. 90% of babies stay in position once they are there so, YAY!

The ultrasound tech said Ireland currently weighs 5 pounds 15 ounces but the doc estimated 6.5 pounds. That's great because if I were to deliver TODAY, doc has no worries or concerns about her size.

Hmmmm what else??? Oh! Yesterday was my LAST day on medication to stop my contractions. As of now I am unmedicated and will let the contractions happen. MEANING, if I go into labor they will not stop it and happily welcome this little girl into the world. The doc said not to get my hopes up...he often sees woman go the full 40 weeks after taking them off the meds. I'm praying that doesn't happen but hey, all we want is a healthy baby. The crazy part is I could go into labor ANY day now.
Didn't it just FLY by?

Also, the doc has ordered some rest and relaxation. It's extremely bittersweet but Friday will be my last day teaching... for a long time! He wants me to take my maternity leave starting at the end of the this week. Good thing there is only 18 days left of school anyway, but, saying goodbye is going to be difficult. However, having a baby is so so so sweet it's hard to be sad! If you remember, I'm going to be a stay-at-home mommy next year so I'm not just leaving my kiddos this year but I'm retiring teaching completely. CRAZY. I'll be giving lots of hugs and love these next 3 days.

:]

I'm feeling super excited! I'm not nervous about pre-term labor anymore; I feel calm, which I haven't felt for awhile. I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation (if I don't deliver in the next 3 days!). Thank you for all who have been such encouragers and supporters through this!

Here's some not cute pics comparing week 14 to week 36... It's really fascinating watching your body grow!

If I don't go into labor this week than expect lots of goodies on the blog next week. I'll hopefully have the energy and finally the TIME.

Happy Wednesday from our growing family to yours.

  1. I didn't know you were a teacher! How fun! But I bet that will be extra hard to leave, especially since you love it! I stopped working at 15 weeks and am going to be a SAHM too! But I didn't really like my job, so it was fairly easy, although I do miss it sometimes...Hope you have a healthy and happy baby soon but get some time to relax first! I've been spending this week relaxing and now I may be getting induced soon! So relax while you can! Enjoy your last week of work too :)
